Well, Saturday I did a photoshoot for a friend, and it was challenging! After the photoshoot I was so discouraged about my lighting, I found a light meter on Ebay, and I won! But here are a few of the photos I took. I cant imagine twins, let alone three! I dont know how she does it.

Beautiful Baby
Saturday I had a photo shoot of a little one year, who by the way was absolutly adorable! I think Cohen had a little crush on her ;) I was so excited to do another lil one, especially b/c I am used to Cohen. So I was ready for the challenge! Much to my amazement she sat much better then Cohen. Here are a few shots from the session.

Getting a Business Started
I haven’t taken the time to figure out a price for my photography. But I am going to sit down this week and figure out a price. I will be posting it on here once I have that all together.
Well, I know my lovely sister-in-law has been GREAT for business! Thanks Gwen!

Pernickety Picky People
Well, some people have looked at my blog, and apparently cant handle the fact that I don’t take the time to spell check after I quickly type my post. Unfortunatly I don’t have the time in my day to write this AND to go back and recheck for errors. This is a rough draft and final draft. So my apologizes for all the typos. You will just have to suffer through the awful grammar and spelling.

Practice Makes Perfect
So Saturday is my day off! And I thought to myself, Kari, you need to clean the house and strip wallpaper in your room. So what did I do you ask? Well I practiced my photography! I didnt get one single thing accomplished that should have been. :)
Hehe, I made Aaron help me with photography (no complaining allowed, b.c. he woke Cohen from his nap...and of course I wasnt happy!) So to the photo room we go...
Here is a photo I took of Aaron so I could learn which settings I needed to be at. Screw that! I dont know what I am doing...so back to automatic..oh well. Someday I will figure it out.
Agh yes here is a photo of Cohen eating the hockey puck! That may have to go in his sports room I am going to decorate this summer!
Then we come to this lovely photo! I had seen one similar to this photo online, and I really liked how unique it was. So I have been meaning to recreate it. So here is the attempt thanks to the hubby! Good job! FYI I do have clothes on.
And how could I forget the photo of Cohen grabbing his massive full diaper! The DeKleine in him coming out...hahaha.
I also really liked this photo of Aaron and Cohen. So cute!!
Have a great weekend!

Hello again!
Just wanted to share some photos I have taken in the past and also some of the techniques used in Adobe photoshop. Some I have learned trial and error, others from online, and now also my Adobe Photoshop class I am in at Kendall. Lovin it! Let me know if you like/dislike any of them. Any feedback would be awesome so I can know what to do in the future. Thanks!
Here is a photo I took the color out of except for the toy. (oh and I did edit a bruise out!)
Here is a senior session I did with my friends lil sister. She is gorgeous! I didnt have to do anything! But I did play with sepia tones and a soft overlay I learned. I really like the bottom left one! All I did was a lot of contrast. The colors worked great!

Here all I did was the soft overlay, and a lil enhancement to the eye color. The overlay really helps soften skin and make everything smoother. (same for the photo below)
This one I thought was kind of fun, (You can see it better if you click on the image.) But it is photo I put in black and white then added some vertical grain to make it look like an old movie!
Well Jan 28 Cohen took his first steps! It was exciting, especially b/c I wanted to be there so bad. And I was! :) It kinda slaps you in the face for how quickly times flies. He is starting to walk, and his 1st birthday is quickly arriving. Where did it all go?? Life has been very busy in our household since January. I work 12-6 a couple times a week sitting an open house, and I am also taking a couple at Kendall at night. Some days I dont see Cohen for 2o some hours. That is hard. Aaron is in school one day a week, with hockey once a week. But I know if I am not busy now trying to figure out my photography, I may never. Life as a mom is a full time job. So the longer I wait, the harder it will be.

I have improved in the area of my photography! It has been fun learning. I hope to establish my own business, but I guess I am waiting for a little more practice. I do now my rates wont be expensive. Enough to cover cost and some of my time. (I cant do it all for free...sorry!)

Here are some photos I have taken for my portrait class. (of course Cohen is my model! Who else?)
Agh yes, the orange grainy photo. I didnt know what ISO ment. Lets just say I was taking photos with an ISO of 1600 (meaning the worst "film" possible!! In digital terms!)
Still grainy, but I liked that the snow was so white it wasnt even visible.
Oh he was mad. Cute photo though! Happens to be the ONLY photo we captured in the 2 sec. outside. It took longer to dress him then actual time spent outside. Haha.
I was to use Natural Lighting for this, no flash no lights. Turned out pretty good considering I have NEVER used the manual settings. Highly recommend learning. It makes photography that much more usable.

So as you can see, I do have a ways to go! But it is progress in the right direction.
